TOTAL PRAISE

[© 2003, Marlene O'Bryant-Seabrook, 56"x 47"]

When faced with adversity, I am consistently blessed with "peace that passeth ALL understanding". The inspiration for the TOTAL PRAISE quilt is the contemporary gospel song written by Richard Smallwood. The song is based on Psalm 121:1 - "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help".

To dramatically interpret two lines from the song, I generated the hands with computer/printer and handpainted the background depicting a sunny sky in the midst of lightning flashes and a stormy sea:
"YOUR peace You give me in times of the storm, I lift my hands in total praise to YOU."

You are invited to scroll down to the words, listen to the intro bars, then sing along.

TOTAL PRAISE by Richard Smallwood

Lord, I will lift my eyes to the hills,
Knowing my help is coming from You,
Your peace you give me
In times of the storm,
You are the source of my strength,
You are the strength of my life,
I lift my hands in total praise to You.

You are the source of my strength,
You are the strength of my life,
I lift my hands in total praise to You.

Amen,Amen
Amen,Amen
Amen,Amen
Amen,Amen

You are the source of my strength,
You are the strength of my life,
I lift my hands in total praise to You.

Amen,Amen
Amen,Amen
Amen,Amen
Amen,Amen
